Teraco Connect is committed to growing talent in order to secure a brighter tomorrow through tertiary education.

This initiative, fully funded by Teraco and managed by an independent third-party provider, Progression, will provide bursary opportunities to deserving members of the broader Teraco community.

Before you submit your application, please ensure that you meet ALL of the below entry requirements and have all the application documents ready to submit.

Applications are open to relatives and/or dependents (e.g. child, cousin, aunt, brother etc.) of all Teraco staff. Exco staff members cannot apply for immediate family.

Eligibility requirements

All applicants must meet the below criteria in order to apply:

South African citizen
Should you wish to apply for funding for your current studies, it is required that the institution in which you are currently enrolled is a recognised South African tertiary education institution.
Between the ages of 18 – 25 years old
Must be referred by a current Teraco staff member
Applicant may not be receiving any other funding or participating in another bursary programme with any other institution.

Step 1: Identify the person you would like to put forward

As a Teraco staff member, and in accordance with the POPI Act, the applicant that you would like to put forward will need to personally complete the application process outlined in Step 2.

Kindly note that as part of this application, the applicant will be required to submit a short referral/ motivation letter from yourself as to why you feel they are deserving of this bursary opportunity. Kindly note that the letter must include your name, surname, and position. Please ensure that you provide the candidate with this letter.

You have submitted your application, what are the next steps?

Once applications have closed on the 30^th of October 2026, the Teraco team will process all applications and based on various factors, will determine which applicants will be approved for funding.
You will receive a letter from the Teraco team advising if your application has been successful or not. If successful, your letter will also state the percentage of your fees that Teraco will be funding.
You will need to provide an invoice from the institution that you are studying with in order for us to make payment.
Once payment has been made, we will send you the proof of payment.
You will need to sign a bursary contract.
You will be required to send us:
- Proof of registration from the institution
- Any results/ reports that you receive throughout your year of study.

Please note:

The Teraco Connect Bursary Programme only provides funding for your tuition and unfortunately does not cover any fees for books, accommodation, etc.
Please ensure you have an approximate cost of the qualification you have applied for as we will need this information for budgeting purposes.
If your application has been approved, you will not be able to change the selected qualification. Thus, it is extremely important that you do research about the qualification you are applying for and ensure it is a career that you wish to pursue.
